Annual Report AY 2022-23

At the outset I would like to thank you all for the continued support due to which today school has created a niche amongst all the Indian Schools and is one of the most sought-after schools in Qatar. In the past 19 years we have made our mark in the field of scholastics, as well as co-scholastic areas.

Our scholastic performance has been consistently soaring high. CBSE Grade 10 Exams Prodigious performance by Birlites bagging the prestigious TOP THREE positions in Qatar. Farah Nazeer Shees secured 1st position with 99.2%, Nihal Ashik Mathilakathveetil secured the 2nd position with 99% and Mahika Rao secured the third position with 98.8%.

CBSE Grade 12 Exams Prodigious performance by Birlites in the respective streams :

Science Stream:

  1. Aditya Gupta – 1st position with 98.8%
  2. Rana Maihar Pratap Singh – 2nd position with 98%
  3. Kishen Gandhi – 3rd position with 97.8%

Commerce Stream:

  1. Mohamed Sahal – 1st position with 97.4%
  2. Paravthi Rajesh Nair – 2nd position with 96.4%
  3. Abin Varghese George – 3rd position with 95.4%

Humanities Stream:

  1. Jui Baliga and Shaymanti Bhowmik secured 1st positions with 97.2%
  2. Anndria Jino – 2nd position with 95.8%
  3. Leo Abu Kurien – 3rd position with 95.6%

Birla Integrated Program (BIP) students cleared the JEE & NEET examination and got into various universities in India & Abroad.

In JEE Mains Kishen Gandhi scored 98.6 percentile and got admission into National University of Singapore (World Ranking 29).  Albin Sibby & Nisha secured their seats at NIT whereas Sravya Sri Mallampalli in IIIT Pune, Adithya Hariprasad Upadhyaya at MNIT, Manipal. Asmi More & Harsha at BITS Pilani.

Amritha Pai, Eesha Vilas Kharade, Keval Pankajbhai Jadeja, Pragya Ranjan, Saima Sharma, Venkata Mutya Hasini Kasireddy, Manav Shampathkumar, Nandita Meher, Bhoomi Naidu & Aalia Mohammed cleared the NEET examination in flying colours.

This year saw the dawn of student club initiatives like The Birla Biology Club, The Birla Cyber Club, The Birla Mental Health and Coping Club and Art Club.

In the pursuit of creating a green and sustainable environment the BPS Scouts and Guides participated in the beach cleaning initiative at Al Wakra in March 2022. BPS also bagged the Doha Bank Eco School Project Award 2021 for the excellent work done by the Eco Club.  Birla Public School was placed second in ‘Farm Your Country Program’ 2022 organized by Alfaisal Without Borders Foundation, a privately established non-profit organization under the patronage of its founder, HE Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al-Thani.

Jineshwar Nariani (Grade 12) and Bhagath Krishnan (Grade 10) from Birla Public School, proved their mettle and bagged the First prize in the Chaliyar Doha Quiz 2022 conducted in honor of the World Water Day in 2022.

The school also bagged its victory in many literary and STEAM events:

Devipriya Chandhirahasan, Sandra Joice, Devika Manikantan, Liya Joseph K, Petrisha Steven and

Aalia Mazhar Khan were the runners-up in the Qatar Preparatory School Debate League for Season 2021-22 (QPSDL – Girls).  

BPS Kindergarten won first place in Destination Imagination among 200 schools. In Destination Imagination (DI), students worked together in teams to solve open-ended STEAM challenges.

BPS bagged 3rd in Monarch Techfest 3.0, the Interschool Robotics Competition organized by DPS Monarch International School, and won prizes for the events Digital Poster Making and Line Follower Robot.

Birla Public School organized the first ever BPS Spell Casters’- Inter School Spell Bee Competition on 10 September 2022 in all its campuses for grades 1 to 12 for the Indian Schools in Qatar. The school organised Inter School Arts, Dance and Music competition “Esperenza” for the Indian Schools in Qatar. The school also won laurels at the Ideal Inter School Competition “Kalanjali” in the group dance and song events.

In the field sports, the BPS School Football Team won the Runners up in DoM Qatar, Inter School Sevens Football Tournament. The school organized an Inter School Chess Competition for all Indian Schools in Qatar.

The following students recorded their place as the Record Holders in various record books. Aadhikesh Akhil C - I-A, Mikhail Vincent Paul - II-A, Padmanabhan Nair - III-N, Mohammed Aahil Faisal Mubarak - III-O, Agniya Arokianadhen – III O, Nehara Vinod Nair - IV-C, Onir Jagdish Raut - IV-F, Tanvi - IV-F &

Sharon Ranjiv - V-N.

Individual Achievements of Students:

 

Joachim Sanish (IV-B) published his book on the launch of Qatar Indian Authors Forum and was crowned as the Youngest Author in Qatar.

The following students recorded their achievements at the various badminton tournaments conducted in India and Qatar. Srihari Vinod (V-B) (Boys Under 11 & Under 13), Aarika Ann Jithu (VII-F) (Girls Under 13 & Under 15), Prakriti Bharath (X-C) (Under 17 Girls Singles),  Reuven John Jithu (IX-N) (Boys Under 15, Under 17 & Under 19)

Pratishtha Dangi (IX-J) Indian National Swimmer of grade 9 won laurels for the school at the National Aquatic Championships and Khelo India women’s series. She also participated in the 36th National Games in Rajkot.

 

Neha Susan Chindu (X L) secured the 'Laureate 1st Degree' Diploma Prizes for all FOUR piano pieces in the ‘Grand Music Festival International Music Competition’ 2021 held in Kazakhstan, First at Opus Artis Paris, France and Bronze at London Youth Piano Competition 2022.

Sainnah Siddiqui (XII J), Vismay Sriram Trivedi (XI A), Lalit Aditya Sankara (XII F) & Aryan Ramesh Surani

 (XI J) were selected to be a part of the Qatar National Cricket Team.                 

The list is very long and in fact the student achievements when presented in the Founders’ Day ran into 100+ slides. We are also trying to showcase many achievements in this magazine.

One of the other great achievements that we had was ISO 21001:2018 (EOMS) and ISO 9001:2015

(QMS) certification as a school.

 

The year drew to a close with the recording of the above major achievements & with hopes to achieve more the following year with hard work, talent and perseverance.
